About

Brian Josephine testified for the Commonwealth on Day 3 about his response to 47 Summer Street on January 24, 2023. The Duxbury patrol officer described finding Lindsay Clancy on the ground, mumbling, with bleeding cuts. Based on his first-aid and police training, he said the wounds did not appear life-threatening. He deferred medical care to arriving fire personnel.

Josephine said he and Officer Stephen Hall entered the basement after hearing screams. He recounted hearing Patrick Clancy accuse Lindsay of killing the children and described finding Dawson motionless, with blue lips, bloodshot eyes, and red marks on his neck. Josephine carried Dawson to an ambulance stretcher, then returned and performed chest compressions on Cora while Officer Vincent Cahill assisted with rescue breaths.

During Jennifer Sprague's direct examination, Josephine acknowledged that an exercise band he had previously described as blue was yellow in a photograph. Asked about his focus at the scene, he said it was the child. Defense counsel declined cross-examination.
