About
Christopher William Clancy testified for the Commonwealth on Day 8 about Lindsay Clancy's parenting, holiday demeanor and family assistance. On direct examination by Jennifer Sprague, he described her as mothering and protective, but recalled quietness, occasional blankness or nervousness, and frustration while seating Dawson at Thanksgiving. He said she took Dawson by the arm but did not hit him. He also recalled a good demeanor on Christmas Day and her satisfaction after Mass.
On cross-examination by Kevin Reddington, Christopher described Lindsay as a very good mother and said he did not consider the Thanksgiving interaction abusive. He explained that his knowledge of her struggles concerned difficulty sleeping, feeling unwell and an emergency-room visit. He also confirmed family efforts to help and Patrick's concern about his wife.
Christopher distinguished a January 24 dinner invitation from established plans, explaining that he and his wife already had another engagement. He said an overnight childcare offer made to Patrick was declined, without identifying who declined it. His chronological recall was sometimes uncertain; reviewing a document excerpt refreshed his memory of Christmas breakfast.
