About

PJ Hussey testified for the Commonwealth on Day 3 about supervising the January 24, 2023 emergency response at 47 Summer Street. A Duxbury Fire Department captain and paramedic, he described hearing a scream and looking through a basement window. He saw a man removing unidentified material from a child's head and neck and said the child's head was blue. He later learned that the man was Patrick Clancy and the child was Dawson.

Under Jennifer Sprague's questioning, Hussey explained how he expanded the response as additional patients became known. With one ambulance staffed that night, he recalled available Duxbury personnel and requested a mutual-aid ambulance, followed by two more ambulances after learning of the other children. He described dividing four paramedics among Lindsay and the children, while Patrick initially had nobody with him.

Hussey distinguished his supervisory role from the care other paramedics provided to Lindsay in the backyard. He explained that recalling personnel would provide help both at the scene and elsewhere in town. Kevin Reddington asked no cross-examination questions.
