Lindsay Rosshirt, the children's pediatrician, testified that Cora's January 24 visit appeared normal and Lindsay Clancy behaved appropriately. On cross-examination, she acknowledged limited psychiatric expertise and no knowledge of the treatment history described by defense counsel.
Lindsay Rosshirt

Pediatrician at Quincy Pediatrics and former pediatrician for the Clancy children at South Shore Medical Center.
About
Lindsay Rosshirt testified for the Commonwealth on Day 8 about caring for the Clancy children and observing Lindsay Clancy during pediatric visits. She believed she began seeing the children around 2019 and performed their checkups, while other providers sometimes handled sick visits. The court admitted pediatric records as Exhibit 216 by agreement.
Rosshirt recalled Cora's January 24, 2023 physical as a normal visit, with appropriate maternal behavior and no apparent communication difficulties. For Cora's belly pain, she considered constipation possible, recommended MiraLAX, and requested follow-up within two weeks if symptoms persisted. She did not recall outward postpartum warning signs or a need to refer Clancy for services, but explained that her pediatric role did not include diagnosing or managing the mother's condition.
On cross-examination, Rosshirt described the children as healthy and happy and Clancy as a doting, concerned mother. She did not remember complaints about the children or insomnia. She acknowledged that she had not known about the psychiatric care, medications, hotline calls, or hospital visits described in defense counsel's questions, and expressed uncertainty about her expertise to answer a question concerning postpartum depression or psychosis. Her favorable observations therefore remained distinct from a maternal psychiatric assessment. The Commonwealth declined redirect.
