John Santos testified on Day 5 about evidence recovered during the house search and how officers collected it. On cross-examination, he acknowledged gaps in his recollection but did not agree that a nightstand drawer had gone unsearched, limiting his answer to his own actions.

About
John Santos testified for the Commonwealth on Day 5 about searching the kitchen, basement office, and master bedroom at 47 Summer Street on January 24, 2023. His testimony connected recovered documents, books, and electronics to the search and explained how investigators handled evidence.
During direct examination by Jennifer Sprague, a kitchen-cabinet photograph was admitted as Exhibit 145. After the defense stipulated that five items came from the kitchen, discharge paperwork, a medication notebook, two mental-health books or workbooks, and a notebook containing messages with the nanny were marked as Exhibits 146–150. Santos also described collecting what he believed were two laptops and an external hard drive. He explained that items were photographed in place before collection and that supervisors assigned search areas as officers moved through the house.
On cross-examination, Santos agreed that investigators considered medications, mental-health books, notebooks, and hospital documents relevant. Kevin Reddington questioned the bedroom search and contrasted seized electronics with an Apple Watch that Santos believed was turned in after the warrant search. Santos could not recall the watch's recovery date and referred to a report identifying who seized bedroom items, which he did not have with him. He did not accept Reddington's suggestion that a nightstand drawer had gone unsearched: he said only that he had not searched it and could not speak for other officers. The prosecution declined redirect.
